Southeast Tidal Creeks Summit

December 16-17, 2013, Wilmington, NC

The GSAA Healthy Ecosystems and Clean Coastal and Ocean Waters teams are supporting the second Southeast Tidal Creeks Summit, a follow-up to the successful first summit held in 2011. Scientists, resource managers, local governments, and not-for-profit organizations will have the opportunity to network and exchange research results, innovative programs, and ideas to increase collaboration among southeastern states to protect, manage, and restore tidal creeks. Participants will identify the current state-of-knowledge with regard to tidal creek research and management; discuss issues and threats to tidal creek system ecology and function; identify future research efforts; evaluate management and restoration strategies; and learn about recent trends in tidal creeks science, management, and ecology. The GSAA is a key sponsor of the event, which is also sponsored and organized by the Sea Grant programs in North Carolina, South Carolina, and Georgia.
